Company

GS Steel is a forward-thinking company with a long history of innovation. Initially founded by Gary Sagaser, who worked as a superintendent on well-known projects such as the Smithsonian Museum and the Miami International Airport before branching out and founding GS Steel. Gary was well known for starting out with gas stations and small residential jobs before working his way into much bigger projects, including warehouses, multi-story medical office buildings, and schools.

With Gary’s hopes of retirement on the horizon, he sold GS Steel to Andrew Markham, Gary’s son-in-law, in January 2020. Today, GS Steel is a modern steel erector business with an eye on the future.

  • Foremen have iPads on-site for better communication and to minimize work delays
  • Project management technologies are in place to stay on schedule and inform fabricators of weekly safety and quality assurance checks
  • Barcoding is used to systemize and track inventory

Here at GS Steel, we’re using technology to better manage timetables, project man-hours, and perform safety reports. At the end of the day scheduling and maintaining strict safety protocols are at the core of everything we do.

Our Core Values

Safety

At GS Steel we are committed to a safe team and job site. We believe success is not only measured by the quality of the buildings we erect but a commitment to safety as well. This is why we continuously mitigate risks inherent in the construction industry.

People

The individuals who work on GS Steel construction projects arrive on site ready to work and leave with a huge feeling of accomplishment. We’re a team of hardworking crane operators, ironworkers and welders from around the world.

Teamwork

Together we build the framework of your company’s future one steel beam at a time. Rain or shine, our men and women work hard everyday to get the job done. Every day brings its own challenge, and the GS Steel meets them head-on.
